Jeanette As a beginner you may choose to start with a gentler meditative class, or experience Vinyasa Flow level I/II, or Kundalini Yoga. Each style of yoga speaks to a different personality and is an individual choice of preference. Please feel free to try out what suits you on all levels.

Accessories: Yoga mat, Blanket, to help your seated meditation posture and to cover yourself in relaxations. These items are available in the studio as well. Dress comfortably, soft, stretchy pants, t-shirt or warmer top. Shoes are taken off at the door. Socks in winter for relaxations.

The meaning of yoga is to yoke, yoking body, mind and soul. A way to self-love, understanding and acceptance. The asanas (postures) energize, tone the body and release energy blockages within the energy bodies. Through pranayama (breathing) and asanas the body and energy system are brought to wholeness. Each asana is designed to work deeply, not just on muscle strength and flexibility but also on the internal organs and subtle energy currents which are connected to the brain, endocrine system and autonomic nerves system. Through the practice and cultivation of self-awareness, self-realization and spiritual upliftment and the journey within begins. Listen to your body at all times and don’t force the body beyond its limit. Your body is your soul’s physical expression. Breathe through the nostrils at all times. Relax and breathe during the asanas, do not fight against the body. It is advised to allow an hour or two for a meal to digest before a yoga class. It is also advised not to do inverted asanas during menstruation, pregnancy or with high blood pressure. Please let me know of ailments so that I can assist in correct yogic practice. Start listening to the wisdom of your body and do what is right for you. Meditation is the practice of focus to lead us to the quiet state of where we all came. When practicing meditation do not try or aim towards reaching any goal. The secret is to allow it to be.
