There are as many variations of the Moon Salutation. This sequence is worked out accoring to the cycle of the moon, finding silence on the New moon and Kumbhaka, breath retention on the full moon. The amount of breaths corresponding with the amount of days in the cycle of the moon.
Eventually when practice becomes more fluent, the breath will guide the movements. There will be no separation between poses, no pause between breaths, only continuous movement. Like the waves of the ocean that do not distinguish between the height of low of a wave but becomes one continuous wave of the ocean. The mind held in mindfullness is the one that brings us to the space of no separation.
