What is Yoga?
Take a deep breath, sigh out. Repeat and as you sigh out, let go of worries… close your eyes and continue the breathing… feel the present moment, feel all around you…within you.
Yoga brings health, relaxation to the mind and nerves. It has the ability to release tension, as well as teach us how to deal with tension in daily life.
Yoga is union (yoking) of mind, body and spirit. Utilising the power of the breath. It clears the mind and brings the mind to focus.
Union within self opens us up to self-love, trust, respect which then in turn radiates to other aspects outside oneself.
Yoga is a spiritual practice of self mastery. Practice to drop the thoughts or to focus the mind. The thoughts are keeping us trapped in limitation and illusion, practice is to keep the mind focused on truth. Your truth. It is not a religion, it is a way of being. No intermediate between you and God. It is only between you and your God. It is an inner journey and self discovery of true essence. It is a practice to hold your consciousness in a state of what is.
When starting to practice yoga is often works from gross to subtle. The more pin-pointed the mind becomes the deeper one goes. Finding the infinite nature of self, perhaps answering the question ‘who am I’, which was the origin of yoga.
